Printable isometric paper
30-degree triangular grid for 3D sketching and technical drawing.
About isometric paper
Isometric paper gives you three axes at 120 degrees, so anything you draw on it reads as a three-dimensional object. It is the fastest way to sketch a room, a machine part, a game level or an isometric pixel-art tile without a drawing program.
Choosing a size
Use 5 mm spacing for general sketching. For pixel-art planning where each cell becomes one tile, 8 mm or 10 mm gives you room to label individual cells.
Common uses
Product concepts, room layouts, isometric pixel art, technical sketching.
Frequently asked questions
What angle is isometric paper drawn at?
The grid uses 30 degrees from horizontal in both directions, which produces the standard isometric projection where the three visible axes are separated by 120 degrees.
How do you use isometric paper?
Draw vertical edges on the vertical lines and every horizontal edge along one of the two 30 degree lines. A cube becomes three rhombuses sharing a corner. Count along the lines to keep every edge to scale, which is what makes isometric sketches measurable.
What is isometric paper used for?
Technical sketching, architecture studies, game level and tile design, product concepts, and pixel-art planning where vertical edges must stay vertical.
